Child-Led and Play-Based Learning
In our classroom, play and work are one and the same. Our students are encouraged to explore a variety of subjects and concepts in education using purposeful materials that are engaging and fun! Each student has the opportunity to advance and progress at their own pace. We strive to provide a sense of belonging for all children and families with our small and inclusive enrollment.
Early Childhood Learning
Salem Montessori School is a licensed Childcare Center and an approved ERDC provider with the State of Oregon. SMS staff are certified and trained Montessori guides with education from North American Montessori Center and members of the American Montessori Society.

All of our students ranging from 3 years old through kindergarten age are in one class together. Students have the opportunity to enlighten and teach each other so many things with the different experiences that come with being different ages and stages!

SMS uses Brightwheel to keep parents and families in the loop. Brightwheel allows SMS staff to send photos of each child's daily activities and accomplishments. It also provides a great communication portal to send messages, log snacks, naps, incidents and more. SMS does all billing through Brightwheel as well.
