Montessori Method
The Montessori Method, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1907, encourages children to learn at their own pace through hands-on, self-directed experiences. By fostering independence, creativity, and critical thinking, it helps children develop a love for learning. Montessori classrooms promote not only academic skills but also social, emotional, and physical growth. History of SMS
Salem Montessori School was founded in 1974 in Salem, OR, and has proudly served generations of families ever since. For over 50 years, SMS has provided a Montessori-inspired learning environment, nurturing students from pre-K through kindergarten and fostering a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
